How does Space pricing work?
You declare a Space — your TB capacity plan. The first TB is $55, TBs 2 through 10 are $49 each, and TBs 11+ are $45 each. Marginal pricing — a 5 TB Space costs $55 + 4×$49 = $251, paid once. Reserving the Space is free; you only pay when you add your first drive.
When do I pay?
Selecting a Space costs nothing. You pay when you add your first drive — Stripe Checkout bundles your Space plan, any shipping fee for that drive, and (optionally) the Extended Plan into a single payment.
What is the Extended Plan?
Default cold storage is 10 years per drive (clock starts when integrity check passes). The Extended Plan extends a single drive to 25 years for $25/TB pro-rata — so a 500 GB drive costs $12.50, a 2 TB drive $50. You can buy it at intake or anytime later from the drive page.
What does retrieval cost?
Retrieval is charged when you actually need the files back. $20 base fee per drive you pull from, plus 1¢/GB retrieved. Pulling 200 GB from one drive = $22; pulling a full 4 TB drive = $60. No charge until you request a retrieval.
What's the proxy subscription?
Optional add-on: $0.99 per TB-of-Space monthly. Unlocks HD video proxies and audio previews so you can browse and identify content from anywhere without pulling originals from cold storage. Pricing follows your plan size, not actual usage.
Can I increase my Space later?
Yes — upgrade any time and you only pay the marginal delta. Going 5 TB → 8 TB costs 3×$49 = $147, not the full plan again.
Are there recurring fees on the Space itself?
No. Space + Extended Plan are one-time payments covering 10 or 25 years of cold storage. The only recurring charges are optional (proxy subscription).
